Absolutely heaven

By: Trip Date: 08/2019

This cabin is great for families! It’s big enough you don’t feel like you are tripping over one another but small enough that you aren’t separated. I traveled with my husband and 16 year old daughter, sister, brother in law, baby, 2 y niece & 5m nephew- plenty of room. There are 2 bedrooms, one has a king bed, the other has a queen with a bunk bed, a twin bed and a twin trundle. MORE than enough space! I’d read that this cabin was ‘rustic’, the walls are painted plywood but sturdy. Who ever constructed this home knew what they were doing. The kitchen had positively every single appliance you’d need & recently renovated! The fire pit is about 25 to 50 feet from the house, HUGE and stocked with firewood! Yes, you do need to walk to the dock, but we traveled with 2 small kids-do you really want open water that close to your cabin? Plus, for those who don’t like the GORGEOUS short walk, there’s road access- you can drive right down to the dock and water. The dock was amazing! Hours were spent here. They have electricity here, so you can have music, lights–whatever. There are 3 kayaks for your use as well as life jackets (one kayak is a double seater.) Fishing is great, we went catfishing at night, as well as caught several large and small mouth bass. We’d only been here a day when we started planning a return trip. We were on the “quiet side” of the lake, sometimes going hours and not seeing people. You’re surrounded by woods, peace and quiet. There’s wifi, but spotty at times (we didn’t care, my 16 year old begs to differ! ) Cell service was really bad, but they have a house line for emergencies (but again, I enjoyed the unplugged ability the cabin provided.) When you get there, you’ll have a linen bag with linens for all the beds- you make them, then you strip them when you leave. There’s a washing machine and dryer, just bring supplies. There’s a Dollar General within a 15 minute drive and a Food Lion within a 25 minute drive. Oh, speaking of Food Lion- that is where Dockside Realty is located (I Googled the address & it took me way out past the shopping center. ) The lady with Dockside was kind, helpful, and friendly. Anyone who stays here will find a clean and comfortable cabin that is well stocked and family fun waiting for them on one amazing dock.

More than expected

We come to Lake Anna every year this was the first time we stayed at this location we found it very accommodating very private and we love the access to the water dock and all its amenities for more than we expected !

Great quiet relaxing weekend!

By: Trip Date: 07/2018

We enjoyed our weekend at Kingfisher Cove! The house was simple, but had everything we needed. It was clean and stocked with all the basics. We thought not having cable/satellite would be an issue, but the dock was sooo nice we spent almost the entire weekend outside enjoying the kayaks, hammock chairs, fishing, swimming and even a nice bonfire with s’mores!! We will definitely be back! Thanks!

Amazing water access and privacy

The dock area is amazing! We caught tons of fish, saw lots of wildlife including beavers, went kayaking and hiking in the woods and roasted marshmallows. Our 7 year old had a blast while we got to relax. The house is a bit rustic but it’s spacious and the kitchen is upgraded. We can’t wait to go again and bring some friends with us.

The dock is fantastic.

This is a rustic location and facility, but the dock was huge and and the hanging chairs were great. Caught lots of fish. The kitchen was well equipped. It is not a huge house, but the beds were comfortable and the home clean. You are surrounded by woods and nature. Lots of privacy. We would go again.

Simply Perfect!

If you want private access to the water on kayaks or swimming, this is an amazing option. You can’t see another house from the water or the rental! The deck is amazing, and the house was everything we needed. The kitchen seems recently renovated- there wasn’t anything we didn’t have available to us. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at Kingfisher Cove.

Perfect vacation!

I stayed here with my mom and two sisters this summer! We loved it! The house was clean and the property was super peaceful. The dock is amazing and we lived the sky chairs! Would definitely recommend it!

Completely private

We stayed at Kingfisher Cove in June of 2013 but the calendar didn’t let me go back that far. The house is rustic but comfortable, we didn’t spend all that much time in the house but it had everything we need. The deck is wonderful and that is where we were most of the day or out on the lake in the kayaks. If you are looking for privacy this is the place. It’s on 20+ acres of land far from any other dwellings. During the week we saw no one and on the weekends an occasional jet ski would come down the cove but never close to the property. Great place for a romantic getaway.

A Rustic Retreat with Lots of Potential

By: Trip Date: 07/2013

We booked Kingfisher Cove for a long weekend. We wanted something different from the beach – a little more seclusion – a little more peaceful. We expected a rustic cottage/cabin, and that’s what Kingfisher is. Although we were a little surprised to find the walls to be plywood (a little more rustic than we anticipated), the accommodations and amenities were quite adequate, and the home was tidy and clean. The kitchen is quite small, making it difficult to have more than one person in the kitchen trying to prepare meals, but sufficiently equipped. Also, if you have children accustomed to taking a bath who may not easily adjust to taking a shower, note that this house only has showers. All in all, we enjoyed the home and it suited our needs well.

As far as the property, we we’re slightly disappointed. The pictures are a bit deceiving. I would appear that the fire pit area is immediately adjacent to the house – off the back deck, perhaps. That is not the case. It’s about 50 or 60 feet away (guesstimate), and the dock and boathouse is another couple hundred feet away from there. Also, the pictures show a nicely kept yard and area between the fire pit and dock. That was not the case during our stay. The yard immediately surrounding the house, and just up from the dock, were cut; however, everything else was overgrown. This was disappointing because we didn’t feel comfortable trekking through the 22 acre property to explore, when there was poison oak and tall grass everywhere. The tall grass was no less than a foot and a half tall, and having seen a snake on the property (we weren’t really surprised or troubled by this – we were in the woods afterall) we didn’t want to go trampling around in tall grass where a snake could easily be hiding.

The dock itself was magnificent! HUGE! The swinging chairs that were provided were also lovely and made for great relaxation under the pergola. The sand pit and provided sand toys were a nice bonus – our 2 year old loved it! Unfortunately, once we discovered a snake nesting on the edge of the sand pit, we had to make it off limits. There were also three kayaks provided, but we never had a chance to use them. Our trip was plagued by rain, or the threat of rain/a storm, so we never took them out.

Although completely unrelated to the house, I still feels it’s important to mention for those unfamiliar with Lake Anna, as we were prior to this trip – it’s a gorgeous area, but there is nothing to do if there is inclement weather.

Great secluded spot

By: Trip Date: 07/2010

Our family stayed at Kingfisher Cove for a long holiday weekend. The location is great, the boat house deck was a fantastic place to relax the day away. The outdoor fire pit gave the feeling of camping. The house is comfortable and rustic. A perfect getaway spot to get away from the daily stress of life. We are looking forward to a longer stay at Kingfisher Cove this summer. The property is well maintained and clean. A darling spot for a rustic family vacation.

My stay at Kingfisher Cove

By: Trip Date: 07/2009

Last year I stayed at this property for a long weekend. It was a reunion of sorts with a couple of old high school buddies. For this type of get-together, the place was perfect. We absolutely loved the dock. Many a late hour was spent on it reminiscing the good ‘ol days. This discussions got loud and boisterous at times. Not to worry, though, there is not a neighbor in site to disturb. The boating access to the main water was good. Perhaps a little shallow, but we were there during a semi-drought. Even with the low water line, I was able to get a 21’ Stingray in without too much trouble.

The home is certainly older, but obvious pains have been taken to insure it is clean and well maintained.

Property is very expansive and secluded.

Bottom line is this… …I am back on their web site this year, planning another weekend away with my old friends. This will again be the perfect location.
