Lake Anna is approximately 17 miles long with 200 miles of shore line divide into two parts. The public side is known as the “cold” side because it provides water to cool the generators at the North Anna power plant and contains roughly 9000 acres. The public side is the larger of the two sides and is open to commercial development like Marinas, Restaurant’s, Camp Grounds and Public Launch Ramps. This public side of the lake tends to have more volume during the heavier summer season but you can often find out of the way coves and areas to swim. Fishing is also quite good all year round.
